Theology Programs/Degrees

Certificate to Master's Program

This two-year online program was designed to provide academic development for those who desire seminary entrance qualification and enroll in the Master's Degree Programs of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary after completion of the certificate program.  A bachelor's degree is not required for this program.

Master of Arts in Christian Studies

This is a two-year graduate degree designed to give students who possess a graduate degree in a discipline outside theology an opportunity to acquire theological training at the graduate level across the theological disciplines. This degree is designed for professionals who do not seek to pursue a traditional ministerial degree but who nonetheless desire to acquire theological training at the graduate level for personal and professional formation and development.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

This three-year program is designed to prepare men and women for effective ministry as pastors, evangelists, missionaries, chaplains, counselors, or other ministries. The student is seen as an active learner who is growing while developing his or her own unique gifts and style for ministry.

Master of Arts in Church Ministries

The Master of Arts in Church Ministries is a 36-credit hour program structured so that students receive balanced exposure to biblical, historical, and theological studies; and develop vocational skills and competencies in one of three ministry concentrations ( Discipleship & Ministry Leadership, Global Pentecostalism & Mission, or Congregational Care & Counseling). Up to 18 credit hours of work may be accepted by transfer from accredited schools with a grade of C or better upon approval by the Vice President for Academics. 

Master of Theological Studies- Biblical Studies

This 48 - 60 credit hour program is an academic degree that prepares you to do research and to teach in the area of Biblical Studies.  Some courses may be waived, based on related courses of previous advanced study.

Master of Theological Studies- Pentecostal Theology

This 48-credit hour program is an academic degree that prepares you to do research and to teach in the area of Pentecostal Theology. This program also allows for 16 credit hours of courses related to the student's desired concentration and interests.

Counseling Degrees

Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The program provides training for counselors that relates to the diagnosis and treatment of various mental disorders as well as being eligible to sit for licensure examinations in various states.  Students will be able to assess potential clients, and compare their skills with client needs and treat or refer with confidence. The program also provides electives in couples, marriage and family counseling, and psychopharmacology.

Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling

This 36- credit hour program is designed to equip ministers with essential counseling skills and competencies for counseling in Church and related settings.  The MAPC degree is an interdisciplinary degree that includes integrative work in Bible, Theology, and Formation that correlates with Pastoral Counseling.

Terminal Degrees

Master of Theology (Th.M.)

This 24- credit hour program is designed to equip individuals with the skills and competencies necessary to excel as researchers, authors and/or instructors of religion in post-secondary academic environments. Currently, the program offers for two concentrations- Biblical or Historical/Theological studies. 

Doctor of Ministry (DMin)

This is a 3-year, 30-credit-hour program of advanced seminary training.  This program is best suited for those who are actively in ministry. The program will also conclude with a program and a dissertation.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

This program is expected to launch in Fall 2024.  More details will be provided in Spring 2024 for fall applicants.
